How To Get Rid of A Old Couch
Early Morning Adventures in Junk Removal!
Y’all, I have to share this morning’s wild ride with you. So, my phone rings bright and early—before my coffee even had a chance to kick in—and this guy says, “Can you come out and help me remove some water-damaged furniture? My house is flooded.”
I’m thinking, “Okay, maybe a little leak.” NOPE. I pull up to the house, and it’s like a mini ocean decided to set up shop inside! Carpet soaked, couches, loveseats, chairs, tables—you name it. Everything was drenched.
I walk in, and there he is—this customer—just chillin’ on the one semi-dry couch left, feet propped up, big ol’ grin on his face. He looks at me and says in the thickest Texas drawl:
“You know what? I’m about to get me a big ol’ check from the insurance company.”
Y’all, I lost it. I’m standing in what smells like a swamp, and this guy is as cool as a cucumber. I said, “Sir, it’s wetter than the Gulf of Mexico in here, and it’s starting to smell like mildew.” He just laughs and says, “No worries! Things like this happen all the time.”
At this point, I’m half in disbelief and half inspired by how laid-back he is. Turns out, his hot water tank decided to burst and flood the whole house. He’d been calling junk removal companies all morning, and no one was open. But when he called me, I answered.
Me and my team rolled up, got to work, and cleared everything out in record time. And let me tell you, seeing how positive this guy was made my day. He turned what could’ve been a total disaster into an opportunity to laugh and move forward.
Moral of the story: Sometimes life throws you a flood, but with the right attitude (and the right junk removal crew), you can handle anything.
If you ever find yourself knee-deep in a mess like this, give Junk North DFW a call. We’ll bring the muscle and maybe even a little humor to make your day brighter.
Stay dry out there, friends!
